drink her weight in apple martinis and polish it off at Water Burger yeah it's a chain here in the US it was close to my apartment it's delicious and I had a problem because I would go there like at 2:00 a.m. every night and I got you know I I looked like I went to Water Burger every night at 2: a.m. 2015 I got pretty jacked and shredded for my wedding in 2016 I turned Pro as a natural athlete in two bodybuilding federations and I've maintained a relatively lean physique ever since I more recently gave birth to my second and so I've been again on like a weight loss body recomp Journey so if you I lost 70 lb in 3 months and many of my friends have asked me how I did it and I just wanted to you know share my tips so I'm going to show you before and after picture of the weight loss this was in August of 2018 and this was in October of 2018 same thing with the side pictures same thing with the arm pictures then here's pictures of me before and after the weight loss real quick this is why taking progress pictures is so important because the scale can mess with you psychologically so she's got these before and after pictures when she started her weight loss Journey she was like look I'm going to take some before pictures because I'm going to I'm going to lose some weight and I'm you're going to see a difference and it's going to be really inspiring because there's something about looking at the pictures and not the scale that make you see the big picture right like you can lose like 2 lbs on the scale and it doesn't look like a lot but when you look in the mirror you're like wow I look leaner I look healthier just so you know I didn't do it in an unhealthy way so tip number one get the loser app this isn't a sponsored video but using the app you can track what you eat and then you can log your way every day tip number two try so let's talk about the Lose It app so the Lose It app is a way to track calories so if she's telling you that a weight loss tip that she used is to use a calorie tracking app you can infer that she was aware of her overall calories and her calorie deficit in order to lose weight this my friends is actually kind of a controversial thing on YouTube especially on women's YouTube I don't know what it is for some reason reason like women just don't want to talk about tracking calories maybe it's because like it's been associated with too much restriction but another way to think about it is to make sure that you're eating enough as a woman it is so important that your in your total calories you're getting at least 25% of those calories coming from fats because what we know about women's health specifically and this is different than Men's Health is that our hormone function really starts to break down we start to actually even lose our reproductive Health if we're not getting enough healthy fats I know that people get scared about tracking calories but it can be a huge eye opening learning experience if you want to understand how to actually fuel your body appropriately not just to maintain weight but to lose weight or to build a little bit of muscle what's tip number two tip number two try to only drink water and if it's hard just try to add fruit or something to make it have taste a lot of people don't realize that there can be a crap ton of calories in drinks some of the drinks on the Starbucks menu are legit like 1,000 calories talk about eating half of your daily calorie intake from one drink happens all the time another thing people do is they don't realize how many calories are in alcohol and how easy it is when you drink alcohol for your body to convert those calories into fat it's pretty instant it's pretty easy for your body to take alcohol metabolize that into fat whereas like if you overeat in terms of like potatoes or chicken or whatever like it's going to be much harder for your body to convert that and store it as fat alcohol is really easy another thing you'll see is that people are so afraid of drinking diet soda because they're afraid of aspartame or they're afraid of artificial sweeters that they will continue to make excuses to drink regular soda and there is so much sugar in regular soda just switch to Diet Coke just switch to diet Dr Pepper just switch to diet soda and I mean I'm just going to throw out the cancer myth right now switching a few cans of coke to Diet Coke a day is not going to give you cancer what will potentially give you a lot of diseases cancer diabetes other things is continuing to be overweight or obese and drinking regular Coke it's crazy so many people could just switch all their sodas and all their juices to water and Diet Coke and just lose weight they wouldn't have to even change their diet it's crazy now before we get into times a day 30 minutes before or after each meal like for part two wait what drink green tea so there's some evidence to suggest that green tea has some metabolic boosting benefits but a lot of that also has to do with just caffeine caffeine does increase uh how much we want to move it increases something called our neat this is our subconscious movement if you're going to drink caffeine you're going to want to move more you're going to be a little bit more prone to want to get up want to do things but green tea is great if you want to drink it before or after meal I just wouldn't say it's going to be the highest leverage thing you could possibly do I wouldn't go run out and buy green tea and make it your number one weight loss strategy but if you love the taste if you think it tastes good and just drink it cuz it's going to help you get more water intake in it's going to boost your caffeine a little bit and you will be more likely to move and burn calories if you're drinking green let's see the next one weight loss advice from someone who has lost over 80 lbs in a year and a half so advice number one is stop taking advice from people who haven't lost weight or people who aren't educated on the matter stop listening to your aunts your uncles your cousins everybody's going to have an input but they haven't done it themselves I feel like that's exactly why there's so much weight loss misinformation a lot of weight loss myths um because a lot of people who don't know what they're talking about have a lot to say it's also that anyone that's lost weight thinks that they have all the answers this is a psychological bias that a lot of people has they seem to think what worked for me is going to work for everybody and therefore I have all the answers and what we know is that that is not true diets need to be highly customized to be effective strength training protocols and workouts need to be highly customized to see aesthetic results what we know is that people need to choose the way to diet that feels the least restrictive to them so for example intermittent f fasting is a dieting strategy that doesn't feel very restrictive to a lot of people because it's just like okay just don't eat until noon or uh stop eating at 5 that doesn't feel very restrictive to some people and that is a lifestyle that they can maintain other people they're like oh my God I need to eat breakfast if I don't eat breakfast then I binge at lunch so intermittent fasting might not work keto is another example some people are totally fine and dandy cutting out carbs completely and just eating a ton of meat it's I mean you know a lot of doctors would say e you may not want want to do that long term however this is a method that to some people feels not very restrictive counting calories that is something that's easy for me because I want to have that flexibility in my diet I want to be able to eat the Pop-Tart eat the ice cream and still lose weight but to someone else the idea of logging food in an app or weighing food on a food scale feels extremely restrictive so yeah I totally agree with that it's good to hear what people have to say but again take it all with a little tiny grain of salt number two she says start cutting off alcohol I used to be the person to drink every single weekend now I only drink girl me too it truly does set you back a lot advice number three is yes it does uh I think like a shot at tequila is what 70 calories a glass of wine is about 120 calories who just drinks like one glass of wine on a girls wine night you know what I mean like you're watching The Bachelor are you just drinking one who does that you know you're probably drinking like three or at least if you are at my wine night you're drinking three so it can be tough but if you were at my wine night and you were on your weight loss journey I would support your goals I'd be like drink an element girl no I'm just kidding I wouldn't I would make you a mocktail all right so three is stop drinking your calories when you can have a whole meal for the amount of calories you just drink in a regular soda or juice there is always a lower calorie option juice there's Diet Coke um all of those will definitely help you eventually stop drinking soda completely yes don't drink your calories from juice I mean even like Chick-fil-A has that what that diet lemonade tastes so good for like I think it's like 50 calories in a diet lemonade for a medium I mean you could make your own lemonade from home just get the lemons get the lemon juice and put some like Splenda in that or people are going to come at me for the Splender coming I like Splenda you could use Stevia you could even use like sugar-free syrup and you could make your own lemonade I mean
